Terapia is a dedicated Ottawa clinic focused on medical hyperbaric oxygen therapy, patient assessment and collaboration with referring clinicians.
Dr. Li is the attending physician at Terapia Ottawa Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. He completed medical training at Wake Forest School of Medicine in North Carolina and Family Medicine residency training at the University of Calgary.
After residency, Dr. Li practiced for seven years in Cochrane, Northern Ontario, providing emergency, inpatient, chronic and family medical care. He subsequently completed additional training in hyperbaric oxygen treatment and diving medicine at Toronto General Hospital and has practiced hyperbaric medicine since 2016.
The clinic’s approach is to assess whether HBOT has a medically appropriate role, explain realistic expectations and risks, and coordinate treatment with the patient’s broader medical care when needed.
We distinguish recognized uses of HBOT from experimental or unsupported claims.
Suitability depends on diagnosis, medical history, contraindications and treatment goals.
HBOT is often adjunctive, so communication with wound, surgical, ENT, infectious disease and other teams can be important.
